Canon Photocopier Donations?

The Canon sponsorship machine is gigantic. Canon is the sponsor of London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. It also donates both cash and Canon Photocopiers to thirteen branches of the Red Cross.

It works with the Worldwide Fund for nature, and in 2007 began work on a site called the WWF – Canon Kids’ Zone to teach children about conservation of wildlife and energy.

In the world of sports, Canon has sponsored the F1 grand prix, the Canadian Grand Prix, the NFL, the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, the New York Yankees, the US Open and the American Junior Golf association.

Before Canon Photocopiers

At Essex Business Machines, Canon Photocopiers like the IR Range, the MFX Range and the MPC Range are among our strongest sellers here in Essex today. However, the company was founded in Tokyo in 1937 as “Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory.” The shorter, snappier title by which we know the company today is a tribute to their first product, the Kwanon. Named after a goddess of mercy (also known as Kanon or Kuan Yin), the Kwanon was Japan’s first 35mm focal plane-shutter camera. The company was renamed Canon Camera Co. Inc. in 1947.

Canon Today

Today, Canon produces a wide range of business machines – laser printers, scanners, digital cameras and, of course, Canon photocopiers.

Among Canon’s lesser-known ventures are medical, optical and broadcast products, including ophthalmic and x-ray devices, broadcast lenses, semiconductors, digital microfilm scanners, and Handy Terminal Solutions.

Years ahead of their time, they also invented a home computer which could accept photographs from a Canon camera in 1983!
