Introducing OliTouch…
Over the past year Olivetti have been launching its self into the information technology market. First we meet the Olibook’s, Olivetti’s first range of Net books and Note books. Then the OliPad 100 came along with its sleek Italian design to be the first touch tablet from Olivetti. Now we have the pleasure of introducing…..the new OliTouch.
Olivetti launched the OliTouch as a part of their marketing plan to have a range of products to run along side their MFP’s machine range.
What exactly does the OliTouch do then?
The OliTouch is an EPOS system or simply a touch screen computer. This smart piece of equipment retrieves all your files and stores them in the cloud or on the Hard Disk Drive.
How does the OliTouch work?
3 simple steps to getting your documents archived.
1) A Shared folder is created on a Server or PC. All documents you require electronically achieved and stored are placed or scanned to, this folder.
2) When you’re ready to start achieving, access the OliTouch where the documents will be waiting on the screen for you (the OliTouch automatically retrieves the documents from the shared folder).
3) Select the document and tell the OliTouch what type of document it is, for example an invoice or delivery note. The document will be then read by the OliTouch, some of the data fields will be automatically indexed, such as the invoice number or the delivery date. Any other data field can be selected using the touch screen and registered in the correct index. Once this simple task has been completed the OliTouch will ask you if the data indexes are correct file the document away, ready to be retrieved when necessary.
Can I retrieve my Documents from the OliTouch?
Once the OliTouch is on the network any computer on the same network can be used to retrieve your documents. The OliTouch works on a web based application, when you have the application open it’s very easy to use. To find a Document type in the search term you want to find in the search box, the OliTouch software will then find the relevant documents for you to use.
There is added feature for Advanced Searching if the user has lots of documents which can be very useful. The user can easily search on the date entered or who has entered the document as a way to get to the relevant document.
