EBM Open Day 2016 Highlights….
On Friday, 8th July, 2016, EBM hosted an open day to welcome local businesses and clients to the official opening of our new premises and networking event.
The day started with guests being greeted with a glass of bubbly or Pimm’s in the sunshine. Then moving indoors to watch Nick Smith from Ricoh UK kicking off the first presentation of the day.
Nick explained how SMEs can save a considerable amount of money with a print audit. Not implementing a managed print service can result in wasted time, paper, and consumables. And not to mention the IT issues caused by a mixed fleet of devices.
Up next was Tim Bland from Grenke Leasing Ltd. Who provided insight on the benefits of leasing over purchasing office equipment. This included avoiding the ‘copier graveyard’ situation, where broken purchased devices stack up over the years. This takes up space and costing more and more money as they are continually replaced.
Following the presentation..
Following the presentation, EBM took the opportunity to catch up with guests ahead of MP Priti Patel cutting the ribbon to officially open the new premises. Ms Patel joined EBM to open their last premises five years ago. And today told guests she was delighted to see how much the business had grown.
After cutting the ribbon, Ms Patel was honoured to unveil her plaque to mark the occasion.
With the sun shining, it was time for guests to enjoy a delicious gourmet BBQ with burgers and hot dogs from Love Food & Drink.
Our MD, Mick Bailey, was presented with a certificate for the company’s continued support to children’s charity, Brainwave. Mick has been an ambassador for the charity since 2007, which works with families to deliver home-based therapy and exercise programmes aiding children with disabilities and additional needs in achieving greater independence.
Next up to present was Steve Pearce from Lexmark Ltd, who delivered a well-received talk on how Google Cloud integration. And how it can benefit organisations of all sizes and industries through its collaborative solutions.
To close the event, Brett Lewis from Konica Minolta Business Solutions Ltd described how big a problem paper waste is for many businesses. He provided practical advice for reducing an organisation’s carbon footprint, while saving money. And by cutting back on the amount of paper used through deployment of managed print services and staff education.
After such useful insight, all that was left to do was to hand out goodie bags to guests, thanking them for attending our open day. It turned out to be a very busy event.
EBM looks forward to holding another networking event soon – so watch this space!
