Witham-based business offset carbon to reduce impact on the environment
EBM Managed Services (EBM) is delighted to announce that we have once again calculated and offset our carbon emissions. This amounts to 23 tonnes of CO2 and covers the year 2020.
“We’ve always been passionate about local causes,” says founder Mick Bailey, “so we’ve chosen to offset in a verified project planting trees in East Anglia, the area EBM covers in our business.” The offset is conducted through carbonfootprint.com.
MD Mark Bailey agrees: “It’s part of our approach to corporate social responsibility: first to reduce the amount of carbon we generate, and then to offset the remainder.”
Director Richard Tytherleigh adds: “Local community support is a core value EBM holds as a business. The choice of a project in East Anglia strengthens our ties to the area, which also include working with local charities and community organisations.”
This marks the third consecutive year that EBM – a 5-star rated IT, Managed Print and Telecoms provider – has chosen to become carbon neutral.
The Three Rs
In addition, the business is continually working to implement its environmental policy, which covers the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
- We’re reducing the amount of CO2 we produce. This means acting responsibly in our sourcing and travel arrangements, such as travelling by train;
- We’re reusing our own office supplies and offer an eco range of reliable refurbished print devices; and
- We run cartridge recycling schemes for print clients.
Further, our print clients can benefit from our Carbon Neutral Print Programme.
